Ryan Murphy Is Polling His Twitter To Decide The Theme For 'American Horror Story' Season 10

Ryan Murphy has positioned himself as one of the most prolific television writers and showrunners of the 21st century, with his work on shows such as Glee, Scream Queens, and Nip/Tuck, among others. He has also brought forth something of a renaissance in horror television with American Horror Story, the multiple Emmy-winning franchise that is coming up on its landmark tenth season.

As it pertains to season 10, Murphy is having a difficult time deciding the theme for the upcoming run, and as such has turned to Twitter to see which of four contenders the fans want to see turned into the next series of the smash hit FX show. The four choices are Aliens, Bloody Mary, Sirens, and Plague, and fans can voice their opinions with the hashtags #AHSALIENS, #AHSBLOODYMARY, #AHSSIRENS, and #AHSPLAGUE over on Twitter.

Any of these choices would make for a great season, even if Plague feels like it would be a bit on the nose for Pandemia. The show has toyed with extraterrestrial life in Asylum, and urban legends with the Edward Mordrake two-parter in Freak Show. So while nothing that Murphy has put forth would necessarily be uncharted territory, he's left the decision up to the fans, so they may live or die and make their choice.

Whoops. Wrong franchise.

Question is, though, will the original promo poster for #AHS10 factor in at all? And how will this affect the announced spinoff American Horror Stories?
