It's only been a few months since Stephen King released his new novella collection If It Bleeds, and THR reports that it's already being adapted for television.

Netflix has teamed up with "American Horror Story" creator Ryan Murphy and Blumhouse's Jason Blum to develop Mr. Harrigan's Phone, the first story in the collection.

The site details, "The story follows a young boy who befriends an older billionaire who lives in his small-town neighborhood, and they bond over the man’s first iPhone. But when the man dies, the boy discovers that not everything dead is gone and finds himself able to communicate with his friend from the grave by leaving voicemails on the iPhone that was buried with him."

John Lee Hancock (The Blind Side, The Highwaymen, Saving Mr. Banks) set to write and direct the adaptation.

Carla Hacken will also produce the project, with Blumhouse Television’s Marci Wiseman and Jeremy Gold serving as executive producers.
