Severin Unleashes 'Revenge of the Living Dead Girls' on Standard Edition Blu-ray This July

Revenge Of The Living Dead Girls Severin Films Standard Blu-ray

Last November, Severin Films brought Pierre B. Reinhard's 1987 French splatter film Revenge of the Living Dead Girls to limited edition Blu-ray, including the film's soundtrack on CD, as a part of their Black Friday sale, and a standard edition Blu-ray is now on its way.

Now up for pre-order on Amazon, the release will feature the uncut version of the film remastered in HD, newly commissioned and slightly cooler (in my opinion) cover art. The package will feature all of the same special features as the previous release without the soundtrack CD.

Special Features Include:

  • Revisiting the Revenge - Interview with Special Effects Artist Benoit Lestang and Writer Jean-Claude Roy

  • The Revenge - Interview with Director Pierre B. Reinhard

  • Inside Studio Lestang - Interview with Special Effects Artist Benoit Lestang

  • Theatrical Trailer

In 1987, Parisian pornographers Pierre B. Reinhard and Jean-Claude Roy deviated from their usual high-end skin fare to instead create un cassoulet d'atrocityés that remains the most extreme French gore film in history. When a trio of vixens is killed by corporate-tainted milk, their nubile corpses will rise from the grave for a Jean Rollin-meets-Return of the Living Dead orgy of depravity.

The film's IMDb description reads, "Promoted as France's first gore film, Revenge of the Living Dead Girls (La revanche des Mortes-Vivantes) is a consummate shocker of horror and sex that as grown into a legend as being one of the sickest and most perverse of zombie films."
