Back in January, we learned that CBS had ordered up a pilot episode for a potential Silence of the Lambs sequel series titled "Clarice," and The Hollywood Reporter now lets us know the project has officially been greenlit as a series set to premiere during the 2020-21 broadcast season.
The drama series stars Rebecca Breeds ("Pretty Little Liars") as Clarice Starling, with Kal Penn (Harold & Kumar franchise), Nick Sandow ("Orange is the New Black") and Michael Cudlitz ("The Walking Dead") co-starring.
"Set in 1993, six months after the events of The Silence of the Lambs, the show is a deep dive into the untold personal story of Starling as she returns to the field to pursue serial murderers and sexual predators while navigating the high stakes political world of Washington, D.C."

"Clarice" comes to us from writers and executive producers Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet ("Star Trek: Discovery"). The project is a co-production with MGM Television and CBS Television Studios in association with Kurtzman’s CBS Studios-based Secret Hideout.

"Clarice’s bravery and complexity have always lit the way, even as her personal story remained in the dark. But hers is the very story we need today: her struggle, her resilience, her victory.
