Following yesterday's special advance screening of the film at the Long Beach Convention Center in California, Strike Back Studios have premiered the teaser trailer for Spirit Halloween: The Movie, an upcoming film centered around the popular retail chain of Halloween stores.

Directed by David Poag, Spirit Halloween: The Movie will reportedly be released in theaters this fall, and on VOD platforms beginning October 11th, 2022.

The "family/kids adventure movie" centers on a group of middle school friends who find themselves locked within the confines of a Spirit Halloween store with possessed Spirit Halloween animatronic characters, including Buzzsaw, Mr. Dark, Cuddles the Clown, Nightcrawler and many others.

The teaser definitely has a "gateway horror" feel to it, similar to that of Goosebumps, The Goonies, Gremlins and Monster Squad. It's sure to be a spooky hit for families this Halloween season.

"When a pop-up Halloween Store opens in a deserted strip mall, three middle school friends, Jake, Carson and Bo decide to spend Halloween night locked inside. But when an evil spirit targets the kids, along with Carson’s older sister Kate — the object of Jake’s longtime crush — they are stalked by horrible animatronic creatures come to life, turning their night of fun into a wacky night of survival that leverages their combined ingenuity and tests their friendship to the max."

"Unless they can defeat the spirit trapped inside before midnight, it will possess one of them for all eternity…"

The film stars Rachael Leigh Cook, Christopher Lloyd, Marla Gibbs, Donovan Colvan, Marissa Reyes, Jaiden J. Smith, Dylan Martin Frankel and Brad Carter.

Poag directed Spirit Halloween: The Movie from a screenplay by Billie Bates. Shannon Houchins, Noor Ahmed and Mike Hagerty produced.
