"Swamp Thing" Gets New Poster Art for The CW Premiere This Fall

Swamp Thing The CW Poster

Earlier this week, we learned that the first season of DC Universe's cancelled "Swamp Thing" series had been picked up by The CW, and a new poster reveals the season will hit the network this fall.

This news has instilled a lot of hope in fans of the series that The CW will end up renewing the show for more seasons in the future, and to our surprise, CW President Mark Pedowitz has expressed that he is not ruling out the possibility of this happening!

"At the moment, it's just the one season," Pedowitz explained during a press call earlier this week. "I do not know if it would come back. Obviously that would be a discussion for Warner Bros. and The CW. But at this time, 'Swamp Thing' is just the episodes we have."

"Swamp Thing” centers on CDC researcher Abby Arcane. When she returns to her childhood home of Houma, Louisiana, in order to investigate a deadly swamp-borne virus, she develops a surprising bond with scientist Alec Holland — only to have him tragically taken from her. But as powerful forces descend on Houma, intent on exploiting the swamp’s mysterious properties for their own purposes, Abby will discover that the swamp holds mystical secrets, both horrifying and wondrous — and the potential love of her life may not be dead after all.

Derek Mears (Friday the 13th, Predators) wore the practical effects creature suit in the series that stars Crystal Reed, Jennifer Beals, Virginia Madsen, Ian Ziering, Will Patton, Andy Bean, Kevin Durand, Henderson Wade, Jeryl Prescott and Maria Sten.

The James Wan-produces series is based on the DC characters created by Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson and is written by "Ash vs. Evil Dead" writer Mark Verheiden and IT co-writer Gary Dauberman.
