Teasers for Netflix's "Resident Evil" Series Go Heavy on Creature Mayhem

Ahead of its premiere this July, Netflix has released two teasers (one that required a little bit of detective work to discover) for their all-new live action "Resident Evil" series.

The teasers go heavy on the action-horror elements, and more importantly, the creatures. Aside from the usual shambling zombies and shady Umbrella Corp. antics, you'll likely spot quite a few familiar monsters and motifs taken from the classic video game franchise. Check them out below!

"The all-new series expansion brings the best of the Resident Evil DNA forward – badass heroines, insane creatures (some new/some familiar), a battle for survival and of course, a deep mystery to unravel. Andrew Dabb ("Supernatural") expands the directions with fresh storytelling, bone-chilling horror and an action-packed spectacle perfect for summer binging."

The Netflix series is set in the year 2036 – "14 years after a deadly virus caused a global apocalypse, Jade Wesker fights for survival in a world overrun by the blood-thirsty infected and insane creatures. In this absolute carnage, Jade is haunted by her past in New Raccoon City, by her father’s chilling connections to the Umbrella Corporation but mostly by what happened to her sister, Billie."

Lance Reddick, Ella Balinska, Tamara Smart, Siena Agudong, Adeline Rudolph, Paola Nuñez, Ahad Raza Mir, Connor Gossatti and Turlough Convery star.

The series will consist of eight one-hour-long episodes, which were written/executive produced by Mary Leah Sutton. The producing team also includes Robert Kulzer, Oliver Berben, and Martin Moszkowicz of Constantin Film.

Netflix's "Resident Evil" television series will have its global premiere on July 14th, 2022.
