Terror Vision Bringing SOV 'Video Violence' Films to Blu-ray for the First Time

Released in 1987, Gary Cohen’s Video Violence is one of the seminal SOV genre films of the 80s, and Terror Vision has teamed up with Vinegar Syndrome during their month-long Partners Only event to release the film, and its underrated, rather different sequel, on Blu-ray for the very first time!

"Until now, Terror Vision has focused on releasing obscure movie soundtracks on vinyl and operating a physical store in Savannah, Georgia," Vinegar Syndrome explains. "This new home video venture will allow Terror Vision to exercise the same care and curation, as is paramount with their vinyl releases, on to home video formats allowing unearthed genre gems from decades past and contemporary oddities to find a new life on physical media. Vinegar Syndrome’s sister company, OCN Distribution, is thrilled to be representing this diverse and unique home video line!"

The double feature set is housed in a limited edition spot gloss slipcase/slipcover set (designed by Earl Kess) slipcase, and is limited to 3,000 units.

Blu-ray features include:

  • 2-disc Region A Blu-ray Set

  • Archival interview with Gary Cohen

  • New interview with Paige Price

  • New interviews with Mark Dolson and Mark Kwiatek

  • New interview with Robert Damico

  • SOVS That Wouldn't Die Documentary

  • 1994 radio promo

  • English SDH subtitles

Exclusively up for pre-order from the Vinegar Syndrome site, Video Violence on Blu-ray is expected to ship beginning June 28th. Furthermore, there is no standard edition of this release. Once it sells out, it’s gone and won’t be pressed again!

In Video Violence, a husband and wife open a video store in a new town, and come to find out that the locals only rent horror films and the "occasional triple X'er", and make their own snuff videos.

In addition to the Blu-ray, Terror Vision have also made a new 2022 Video Violence tee and repressed their long-sold out vinyl release for the film. The tee, vinyl and more can be purchased over at terror-vision.com.
