It feels like I've been waiting forever for Charlie Steeds‘ creature feature The Barge People to arrive here in the states, and it's finally happening thanks to the wonderful folks at RLJE Films.
The film looks a lot like Alexandre Aja's The Hills Have Eyes remake meets the lore of H.P. Lovecraft, with plenty of stellar looking practical gore effects.

"A group of friends sets off for a relaxing weekend away on the canals of the glorious British countryside, unaware of the flesh-eating mutants lurking in the water…ready and waiting to feed."
Written by Christopher Lombard (The Writer) and directed by Steeds (Deadman Apocalypse), the film stars Kate Davies-Speak (Off Grid), Mark McKirdy (Electric Man), Makenna Guyler (King of Crime), and newcomer Matt Swales.
