Thanks to an exclusive from Entertainment Weekly, we now know the seven performers who have been brought back from the dead for the two-hour special The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula: Resurrection, which comes to Shudder on October 20th. This one-off is a sort of one-shot campaign, in which seven previously exterminated artists will get one shot at redemption, with the winner snatching not only a $20,000 cash prize, but a chance to return to the main show in season four.
The seven second chances have gone to:
Frankie Doom (S1 runner-up)
Loris (S1 5th/6th place)
Kendra Onixxx (S2 8th place)
Dahli (S2 7th place)
Victoria Elizabeth Black (S2 runner-up)
Priscilla Chambers (S3 runner-up) Saint (formerly St. Lucia, S3 10th place)
Unfortunately, my previous attempt at casting an All Stars season was largely unsuccessful, save for one pick and my honorable mention. That doesn’t mean we don’t have a hell of a line-up for this very special showcase. I will reserve my judgment on who I think should continue on to season four until my eventual review, but there are a lot of surprises among this collection of monsters; that is, three runners-up, while the rest were gone within the first three weeks of their seasons.
This one is going to get ugly, real quick.
From EW, regarding the composition of Resurrection:
"The special episode will pit the ladies against each other in an unprecedented, ghoulish pageant filmed over two months earlier this year, with strict quarantine measures in place to protect both the cast and crew from the coronavirus pandemic while still satisfying the macabre series' core aesthetic tenets: fierce drag, filth, horror, and glamour. "It was half genius, half insanity," Swanthula says of the unprecedented shoot, which saw the five-person crew traveling to the contestants' hometowns to film them in self-styled-and-designed performative vignettes in pursuit of the prize — all strung together by the series' signature scripted (and terrifying) cinematic shorts starring the Boulets. "Those circumstances are reflected in some of the footage. It's going to be a bit of a time capsule when we look back at this in a year or two or more, you'll see the way America was affected coast to coast, in the four corners of the country."
