Following its theatrical, On Demand and Digital release earlier this month, we've learned today that RLJE Films, along with Shudder, will be giving The Strangers director Bryan Bertino's new horror film The Dark and the Wicked a physical home video release just in time for the holidays.
The Dark and the Wicked comes to Blu-ray and DVD on December 15th. Both on-disc versions of the film will include a Fantasia Q&A with stars Marin Ireland and Michael Abbott Jr.
In the film, on a secluded farm, a man is bedridden and fighting through his final breaths while his wife slowly succumbs to overwhelming grief. Siblings Louise (Ireland) and Michael (Abbott Jr.) return home to help, but it doesn’t take long for them to see that something’s wrong with mom—something more than her heavy sorrow. Gradually, they begin to suffer a darkness similar to their mother’s, marked by waking nightmares and a growing sense that an evil entity is taking over their family.
Written and directed by Bertino, the film also stars Xander Berkeley ("The Walking Dead"). Bertino produced alongside Adrienne Biddle, Sonny Mallhi and Kevin Matusow.
