'The Last of Us Part II' Now Dated for June 2020 Release

The Last of Us Part II June 19 Release

Originally slated to release this past February, Naughty Dog's highly-anticipated sequel The Last of Us Part II then bumped to a May 29th release date before being delayed "indefinitely" earlier this month.

Earlier today, it was leaked online and then confirmed on the official PlayStation Blog by Head of Worldwide Studios Hermen Hulst that the game will now launch on June 19th, 2020. Let's hope this date sticks!

It was also revealed that Sucker Punch's Ghost of Tsushima will follow on July 17th.

Hulst said in a statement, "I want to personally congratulate and thank both the teams at Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch Productions on their achievements, as we know it’s not an easy feat to reach the finish line under these circumstances. Both teams have worked hard to deliver world-class experiences, and we can’t wait to see what you think of them when they release in just a few short months."

In The Last of Us Part II, "Five years after their dangerous journey across the post-pandemic United States, Ellie and Joel have settled down in Jackson, Wyoming. Living amongst a thriving community of survivors has allowed them peace and stability, despite the constant threat of the infected and other, more desperate survivors."

"When a violent event disrupts that peace, Ellie embarks on a relentless journey to carry out justice and find closure. As she hunts those responsible one by one, she is confronted with the devastating physical and emotional repercussions of her actions."
