'The Ring' Celebrates its 20th Anniversary with a Steelbook Blu-ray in October

Gore Verbinski's The Ring is turning 20 this year, and Paramount Home Entertainment is celebrating the 2002 remake of Hideo Nakata's 1998 Japanese horror film Ringu with a brand new Steelbook Blu-ray!

Now up for pre-order on Amazon, The Ring 20th Anniversary Steelbook Blu-ray is expected to arrive on October 18th, 2022, coinciding with the film's original 2002 theatrical release.

Special features have yet to be revealed, but you can check out the new Steelbook packaging, which includes an awesome VHS-inspired slipcover case, below.

In The Ring, "It sounds like just another urban legend - a videotape filled with nightmarish images leads to a phone call foretelling the viewer's death in exactly seven days."

"Newspaper reporter Rachel Keller (Naomi Watts) is skeptical of the story until four teenagers all die mysteriously exactly one week after watching just such a tape. Allowing her investigative curiosity to get the better of her, Rachel tracks down the video and watches it. Now she has just seven days to unravel the mystery."

Written by Ehren Kruger (Scream 3, The Skeleton Key), The Ring also stars Martin Henderson, David Dorfman, Brian Cox, and Daveigh Chase.
