Back in the summer, Rani Sharone released a delectable dark pop single under his Thrillsville banner, the Twilight Zone-inspired “The Fever.” The track, which centers around themes such as addiction and obsession, is a synthpop number with notes of industrial and electronic music thrown in to make a low and slow groover. As it turns out, this is just one track of what is planned to be a five-track EP titled Say Goodbye to the Light. Said EP is due out via No Comment Records on December 4th, and can be pre-ordered for the low sum of $1 USD here.
In the meantime, the anchoring single “The Fever” now has a music video, directed by Precious Child, Shadow Sunrise LLC. With the main character, played by Sharone, suffering from a gambling addiction (if the slot machine and the “live, laugh, gamble” neon sign didn’t give that away), he is tempted by the chance to make a quick buck, not knowing what consequences may come from his impulse decisions.
The tracklisting for the upcoming Say Goodbye to the Light is as follows:
1. The Fever
2. So Close
3. The Caller
4. Second Sleep
5. Body Bag
