[Trailer] Old School Creature Horror 'Fear of the Woods' Promises No CGI

Fear of the Woods Titus Paar Trailer

From writer-director Titus Paar (The Perfect Weapon), comes Fear of the Woods, described as a tale in old Hollywood style where Jaws, meets "Stranger Things" and Silver Fang.

The first trailer for the survival horror film has been unleashed, showcasing its impressive use of a massive animatronic killer bear. In fact, Fear of the Woods promises absolutely no CGI when it comes to the film's creature effects!

In the film, "Alaska 1993, A snowstorm has trapped the small mountain town. Now it's up to a group of rebellious teenagers to save their town that don't believe in monsters."

Produced in Sweden by Hammarström agency and Paar Productions AB, the film stars Hollywood legend Vernon Wells (Mad Max, Commando), Ralf Beck and Christian Arnold.

"The Bear is made without CGI and all in-camera using old-school camera techniques and the very skilled studio, Fixas.se, that created the five-meters tall animatronic bear. The dream was to go back to old school creature horror with story and characters so interesting that the bear could be taken out of the film and still be good," Paar tells Dread Central.

He adds, "We hope to bring back the charm of doing it the old way but with modern techniques and themes, I think the audience wants something that feels real again, true movie magic without CGI. That bear was actually there with us in the freezing snow.”

Fear of the Woods is expected to begin its festival run later this year. Be sure to follow the film on Facebook for more updates.
