[Trailer] Horror-Western 'The Pale Door' Takes Shelter Among a Coven of Witches

The Pale Door Trailer Aaron B. Koontz

Saddling up this August, the official trailer for executive producer Joe R. Lansdale (Bubba Ho-Tep, Cold in July) and director Aaron B. Koontz‘s The Pale Door has finally been released today.

RLJE Films will release the horror-western into drive-in theaters, as well as On Demand and Digital on August 21st, 2020. It'll then premiere on Shudder at a later date.

Described as 3:10 to Yuma meets The Descent, the film follows The Dalton gang, who take shelter in a seemingly uninhabited ghost town after a train robbery goes south.

"Seeking help for their wounded leader, they are surprised to stumble upon a welcoming brothel in the town’s square. But the beautiful women who greet them are actually a coven of witches with very sinister plans for the unsuspecting outlaws."

While the 3:10 to Yuma similarities are obvious, the trailer definitely features more From Dusk Till Dawn or Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight vibes than The Descent. See for yourself below.

Koontz co-wrote the film with Cameron Burns and Keith Lansdale ("Creepshow").

The Pale Door stars Devin Druid ("13 Reasons Why"), Zachary Knighton (The Hitcher), Melora Walters (Magnolia), Bill Sage (We Are What We Are), Pat Healy (Cheap Thrills, The Innkeepers) and Noah Segan (Late Phases, Looper).
