[Trailer] Warner Bros. Will Unleash Christmas Horror 'Toys of Terror' Just in Time for Halloween

I know, you're probably thinking fuck that title, right?

While I'm certainly not a fan of mentioning Christmas-y things before Halloween has even happened, let alone in the same sentence, it seems CryptTeaze has covered quite a bit of Christmas-themed horror announcements this October. From new Blu-ray and vinyl releases of Silent Night, Deadly Night, to the advent horror anthology Deathcember, I've succumbed to committing spooky season blasphemy way too much for my liking in recent weeks.

But to hell with it, here's some more Christmas horror news to remind you all that the days of Mariah Carey holiday jingles and overwhelming consumer greed are nearly upon us.

Arriving just in time for Halloween, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will release the new holiday horror film Toys of Terror (previously known as Evil Toys) on Digital October 27th, 2020 and on Blu-ray and DVD January 19th, 2021.

Written and executive produced by "Stan Against Evil" creator Dana Gould, the film's official trailer was exclusively debuted today over on Syfy Wire. You can watch in below.

The site also provides the full plot rundown, "The troubles begin when the Cashman family first moves into a crumbling old orphanage in Washington state, with mom Hannah hoping to spend the holidays fixing it up in the hopes they can sell it and move away again - much to the family's consternation. But while kids Franklin, Zoe, and Alicia are less than enthused with the whole plan when they first get there, they quickly change their mind after finding a stash of old toys in an abandoned playroom.

However, as the children's attachment to their new finds grows in intensity, and their behavior grows stranger and stranger over the next following days, their nanny suspects it might have something to do with the toys — and that they may be manipulating everyone.

With no one in the family really heeding her warnings, and the body count starting to stack up, it'll be up to her to help everyone else escape and ensure they live to see another holiday. "

Toys of Terror was directed by Nicholas Verso (Boys in the Trees) and stars Kyana Teresa ("Star Trek: Discovery"), Georgia Waters (Siren), Verity Marks (The Christmas Club), Dayo Ade ("October Faction"), Saul Elias, and Zoe Fish.

All joking aside, Toys of Terror looks like a atmospheric and chilling holiday tale that's sure to be a hit among horror fans this holiday season.

The film will also make its broadcast debut on Syfy this December. Toys of Terror is produced by Blue Ribbon Content in association with Warner Bros. Home Entertainment and Syfy.
