Unearthed Films Bringing 'Evil Dead Trap' to Blu-ray With a New 4K Restoration

Unearthed Films' Stephen Biro gave extreme horror fans a Halloween surprise over the weekend, announcing that the company is bringing Toshiharu Ikeda's 1988 cult classic Evil Dead Trap to Blu-ray for the first time with a brand new 4K scan and restoration!

Biro added that extras are to be announced and new artwork is currently in the works.

In the film, Nami hosts a late night home video program. She receives a tape which appears to be a real snuff film. She and her crew investigate the location where she meets a man looking for his brother who warns her to stay away. As she gets closer to the truth, she and her friends are subjected to a brutal nightmare.

"The kinetic visual style is reminiscent of Dario Argento, David Cronenberg and Sam Raimi, and it builds with genuine suspense and terror," Synapse detailed for their 2000 DVD release of the film. "Written by Takashi Ishii (Gonin 1 & 2), Evil Dead Trap is a masterpiece of Japanese horror cinema that will leave you breathless!"

Check out the film's trailer below and stay tuned for more details!
