Netflix kicked off "Geeked Week" today by providing us with a first look at their upcoming live-action "Wednesday" series, which is set to premiere this fall. The streaming giant unveiled a short teaser video and images featuring star Jenna Ortega (Scream, Ti West's X) as Wednesday Addams. You'll find it all below!
Described as a "sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery," the creepy and altogether kooky new series, from director Tim Burton, centers on the beloved Addams Family daughter as she navigates teenage life at the gothic Nevermore Academy and a murder mystery with close ties to her famed clan.
"Wednesday's attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships."
"Wednesday" stars Luis Guzmán as Gomez and Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia. Thora Birch (Hocus Pocus), Gwendoline Christie ("Game of Thrones"), Riki Lindhome (The Last House on the Left), Joy Sunday (The Beta Test) and Christina Ricci, who we all know played Wednesday Addams in the 90s films, will also appear in the series.
Alfred Gough and Miles Millar ("Smallville", "Into the Badlands") wrote the series and are serving as showrunners.
