Tuesday night saw this year’s WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony, in which a bevy of wrestling’s finest took their place among the icons of the sport of kings. As last year’s ceremony was called off due to the ongoing pandemic, this year’s ceremony saw both the 2020 and 2021 classes inducted, and as such, we saw not one, but two celebrity inductees on the night.
The first is the iconic William Shatner, best known as Captain Kirk of Star Trek, the host of shows such as The UnXplained, and the Negotiator from the Priceline commercials, just to name a few. Inside of WWE, he appeared in an angle with fellow Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler back in 1995, guest hosted WWE Monday Night Raw in 2010, and narrated the WWE Network original series Breaking Ground. Shatner is considered the celebrity inductee for the 2020 class.
Ozzy Osbourne is the inductee for this year’s class, as first reported by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter earlier this week. Ozzy’s involvement in WWE spans decades, as the Prince of Darkness accompanied The British Bulldogs to the ring at WrestleMania 2 in 1986, performed on SmackDown in 2007, and guest hosted Raw in 2010 alongside his wife and manager Sharon.
