NECA Turns Poster for John Carpenter's 'The Thing' into 40th Anniversary Action Figure

Celebrating the 40th anniversary of John Carpenter's The Thing, NECA has today revealed another Convention Exclusive 2022 action figure that is, without a doubt, one of the company's coolest creations yet!

Dubbed the "40th Anniversary Poster Figure," the 7" scale action figure recreates the 1982 film's iconic poster art, created by the legendary Drew Struzan.

NECA explains, "From The Thing, John Carpenter's acclaimed slow-build horror film classic! It follows a 12-man research team that finds something in the Antarctic Circle that's been waiting for over 100,000 years."

"Recreating the original and iconic poster art for the theatrical run, this special deco figure stands approximately 7 inches tall and features an LED light in the head and interchangeable and removable faceplates to create the poster’s signature burst of light. In display friendly 5th panel window box packaging styled after the movie poster."

Check out the images below and stay tuned for sale information, which NECA promises is coming soon.

In other The Thing news, Fathom Events will bringing the sci-fi horror classic to theaters next month. John Carpenter also recently appeared in the first episode of "Charles Band’s Full Moon Freakshow" podcast.
