Relive the 'Summer of '84' on Limited Edition VHS This June


Witter Entertainment and Broke Horror Fan are ringing in the summer season next week with a very fitting title on VHS.


From the creators of Turbo Kid, the 2018 throwback thriller Summer of ’84 will hit that nostalgic sweet spot on VHS next Friday, June 3rd.


Featuring all new artwork from Chris Barnes (Brutal Posters) and resented in classic 4:3 pan and scan, three VHS editions will be available over on witterentertainment.com. Barnes' art adorns both the standard edition clamshell (50 stocked) and a big box edition including a red tape (limited to 50). A variant clamshell edition with theatrical artwork by François Simard is limited to 50.


In Summer of '84, "The perfect time to be 15 years old and free. But when neighborhood conspiracy theorist Davey Armstrong begins to suspect his police officer neighbor might be the serial killer all over the local news, he and his three best friends begin an investigation that soon turns dangerous."


Each tape includes exclusive introductions by actor Caleb Emery, along with writers Matt Leslie and Stephen J. Smith. Keep watching for a blooper reel following the film as a special feature, too! Summer of 84 is officially licensed on VHS from Gunpowder & Sky/ALTER and has been approved by directors François Simard, Anouk Whissell, and Yoann-Karl Whissell.


Summer of 84 on VHS is expected to ship in late June/early July 2022.
