Tombs Premieres Faithful Cover of Motörhead Classic, "Killed By Death"

"If you squeeze my lizard, I'll put my snake on you..."

New York/New Jersey metal collective Tombs has today premiered a faithful and brutalizing cover of Motörhead’s iconic song, "Killed by Death," taken from the band's 1984 compilation album No Remorse.

In true Motörhead fashion, bassist Drew Murphy takes the vocal lead on this one, channeling the gruff rock ‘n’ roll spirit of the late great Lemmy Kilmister with perfect precision. The song features guest guitarist Dan Higgins of Hammerfight, who performs with Murphy in New Jersey’s premier Motörhead tribute band, Enginehead. The song and accompanying visualizer can be found below.

In addition, Murphy created the single artwork (below) in which he reimagines Snaggletooth for this tribute that is now available as a special merch design which can be found at the official Tombs Bandcamp page.

The single is the latest from Tombs' upcoming Ex-Oblivion digital EP, for which the final single will be made available on July 13th. All songs will be available via Bandcamp, YouTube, and across all streaming services while a vinyl counterpart will be announced at a later date.

Ex-Oblivion can be pre-saved across all digital platforms and downloaded via Bandcamp.

Tombs will be hitting the road in North America this month in support of Origin along with label-mates Abysmal Dawn. The full itinerary can be found below!

Tombs' latest full-length album, Under Sullen Skies, which was released in November of 2020, and has been named one of the best metal releases of 2020 by Metal Insider, Decibel Magazine, The Pit, Riff Magazine, and others.
